Organisations that are signed up to Time to Spare can now request volunteers through a brokerage team making it much easier to access the volunteers. The brokers can help match volunteers with voluntary and community organisations who have a need for verified/ vetted volunteers. The service will also help to verify or carry out new DBS check with volunteers.You can use the Brokerage service to request volunteers with specific skills or background for community activity.

Contact Volunteer Centre Camden (VCC) or approach the organisation directly if you know who you want to volunteer with. There are many opportunities to offer your time and skills in Camden, both short or long term. To get an idea of the range of organisations in Camden you could search our directory of organisations. Are you looking for volunteers?
VCC can offer support for organisations that are new to recruiting volunteers and also help recruit volunteers. There are always a few volunteer opportunities at VAC and we advertise volunteer opportunities in the weekly e-bulletin.
Employee volunteering opportunities
For volunteering opportunities, or to find volunteers, Volunteer Centre Camden offers a brokerage service, as well as a range of other services and training to help organisations develop their volunteering strategy and development.
Trustees
Trustees are unpaid and so can be thought of as volunteers. Voluntary Action Camden offers training for voluntary management committee members (trustees) in partnership with the Mary Ward Centre. The course, Goverance in the VCS, runs every spring. VAC also runs an event for trustees during Trustees’ Week (1st week of November) and also supports a network of trustees in Camden on Meetup.
Informal Volunteering
There are a wealth of informal volunteering opportunities our there – including; being a carer; supporting the NHS; getting involved in a sports, arts, or hobby club; getting involved online; get involved with a Trades Union, a campaign; or ‘friends’ group supporting your local park, school, or library.
